That moment when a family is created, or grows, or changes. That moment when a new person begins their story. To capture these moments when many hands help to bring a baby into the world is one of the most amazing things that I get to do.
For me, birth photography is about capturing the story…the details, the in-between moments, the quiet, the concentration, the nerves and excitement….in addition to that amazing moment when she comes screaming into the world.

I met this sweet pea when she was brand new. I have had the opportunity to watch her grow into the most adorable, most fun, sassy little girl! During this session I got to take breaks as she would bring a book and sit in my lap or hold my hand while we walked to our next spot. As a parent and as a photographer I feel that having a sense of humor is key. This family is one of my favorites because they truly take it as it comes and smile. With identical twin one year old girls it is probably how they survive. I also love working with them because they LOVE the ‘blooper’ pictures. As a photographer who specializes in babies and kiddos I get to capture a lot of fun moments.
One of the coolest things that I get to do is visit brand new families in the hospital the day after their little one arrives.
I seek to capture this chapter of a family’s story. It is amazing how even within the first week they change so much.
